Emma Jane Bach (La Laguna, Tenerife, 1996)

The psychological and analytical work of Emma J. Bach represents themes like liminality, alienation, dissociation, nostalgia, memories, introspection and the subconscious mind through a pictorial language which fuses subjects who are lost in thought and a fragmented space. Her production, usually figurative and multidisciplinary, often references pop culture and occultism. Her most recent work revolves around the concepts of ritual, faith and the collective, especially in the context of the Canary Islands.

She has been granted several prizes, including the First National Painting Prize Enrique Lite and the First Prize in the Open-Air Speed Painting Competition of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She is currently based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and is developing her new work in a residency in La Regenta Art Center.​
